Travel to the Hunter Valley

Travel to the Hunter Valley by car takes approximately 2.5 hours from Sydney CBD. Cessnock is the closest town to the venue and is about 150 km north of central Sydney (see the map and other links under the Hunter Valley menu on this website).

Note: Bus transfers between Newcastle airport and Sydney airport/Central station have been arranged for Tuesday afternoon to the conference venue and return on Friday afternoon. We will only guarantee you a seat on the bus if you notify Peter Turner P.Turner@chem.usyd.edu.au that you wish to avail yourself of this service.

Qantas and Jetstar offer limited services to Newcastle which is the closest regional centre to the venue. Newcastle is about 160 km north of Sydney and 60 km east of Cessnock. Driving from Newcastle to the venue would take about 45 minutes.

Hunter Valley Bus Services

Rover Motors - Daily trips from Sydney CBD direct to hotel (OR full chartered coaches) 02 4990 1699. Cost $40 Sydney CBD to Kirkton Park, or $70 return.
